Life Members

Sam Masterson

Sam was the founding president of the Burringbar Hockey Club back in 1932. He remained president for the next 37 years.

Ted Irby

Ted became heavily involved in the Waratah Hockey Club after the war. He was a valued member and player throughout the 1950's and held the position of treasurer from 1961 to 1975.

Glady King

Glady moved to Burringbar in 1946 and has been involved with hockey ever since. Gladys has received several awards for her efforts inclduing a Long Service Badge from Hockey QLD.

Ken Philip

Ken was a player for Waratahs during the 40's and 50's. He made his mark with Waratahs in his off field efforts organising chook raffles and senior banquets. Ken was elected president in 1973 and held this position until 1978.

Leo Kelly

Leo was a member of Waratahs for years, he was a long standing Secretary for the club.

Len Irby

Len started playing hockey for Waratahs at the age of 10. He played through the junior ranks and was a valued member of the A-grade team in the 1960's. Len became treasurer in 1979 and still holds this position today.

David Reading

David has been member/player of Waratah Hockey Club for many years. He played in the A grade men's team, Div2 men's and also coached A Grade Men and women over the years.

Karen Paron

Karen has been member of Waratah Hockey Club since she began playing in Under 8's. Karen became a Member of Falcons at the age of 14 and remained in the team until she was 39. Karen has also been involved with coaching for many a year and has also been involved in the adminsitration side and held the position of club secretary for several years. Karen was awarded Life Membership in 2002 which is her proudest moment whilst being with the club.

Janice Read

Janice has been a member of waratahs for many years. She is a great supporter of our club.

Annette O'Connor

Annette has been a member/player of waratahs for many years. She started playing and still plays for Div3 Doves, she has been secretary for the club for many years. she was shocked and suprised when the club awarded her with Life membership in 2017, this was a very proud moment for her.
